Stainless NMFT 45ACP/COLT... Have a new front sight blade with a S&W style orange insert coming from JRH to help my aging eyes pick it up in various environments. The ACP cylinder is consistently more accurate and load tolerant than the Colt cylinder, so I've toyed with the idea of having Jack build me an unfluted cylinder cut for 45AR (so I could ID each of them easier). Have you seen the 45 Cowboy Special brass Starline makes? I believe it is the same dimension as 45 auto (like 45 AR), but has a standard rim thickness, so would work in the 45 auto cylinder.

Yes Sir, I have seen that and have toyed with going that route instead. Too many projects, soo little time! The Home Commander is BEGGING me to retire so I can just fill cartridge cases and empty cartridge cases on a more frequent basis. Ya know, to justify the stuff piling up in the loading room. May have to add a few piles of cowboy brass to the pile before too long.

I'm having this particular revolver built right now. Sent it off in Dec. 2017 to Bowen and it's currently being engraved. It'll be a lightweight Colt SAA with dual. 45 cylinders. Will take care of anything I ever need.

This is THE most misunderstood combo on Facebook. Post that picture and sit back for the comments. Ha!

I scrolled back up and see I did the same thing ! In my defense, I've had that pic up here, before and told of the knife being a 5" Cold Steel Voyager. At least a few people here have one.

Not sure what you call it, but I'm sure liking the two tone leather combo. I have not looked on Simply Rugged for a while in an attempt to save some money and these pics are not helping.

I just got the bisley hammer back from Ryan Ross where he blued it once I removed the hump and fit it to the Vaquero. The walnut grips are pretty much fit to the gun but still a touch to wide and blocky for my hand so they will get rounded off some more before I finish them. This is the 45 Colt Vaquero I bought several months ago that had already been through David Clements shop to get rebarreled, the front sight serrated and the action tightened up. I need to find a good holster for the short barrel then it will go into the CC line. It will eventually go down to Ryan to get the fake coloring removed and a nice blue job done. Sure I have other short barreled birds head guns I could have used and saved the cost of buying this but this gun is like my Kahr I carry. If heaven forbid I ever have to use it, it won't break my heart or the bank if it goes someplace as evidence.

“Sure officer, you can have it as evidence. But can I get that Bisley hammer off first?”

Exactly Joe! At least it is a NM bisley hammer and not one of David Clements OM hammers!

My Lipsey's Single Seven arrived, which I think will make a nice carry single action, but it arrived minus the XS Big Dot sight. So I'm waiting on the dealer I bought it from to make that right. Apparently Ruger sent Lipsey's a batch with the standard front sight instead of the XS, and Lipsey's sent them on to all their dealers.

I'd stick with my Colt's SAA 4 5/8" .44 Special. It has the perfect balance and feel to make it reflexively responsive to me. The action is silky smooth, and it is utterly reliable. The .44 Special is a caliber that I can trust for any situation that I would foresee running into. In either a high ride belt holster, or an inside the waistband rig for deeper concealment, it is light enough on the belt to travel quite comfortably for me. I use a small belt slide to keep few spare cartridges on hand.
