well be careful of nailing up those wanted posters with the plastic grips... not sure if you remember the neighbors Colt I redid for him... that he conked something on the head many years ago, & broke both those plastic grips... better at least find an old pair of wood grips if you're going to use it as a hammer

Just put a burnt bronze one on preorder. At that price, I will cross my fingers that mine shoots like Jeff Quinn's!

I saw one in person today. Stopped down at my LGS to see a 610 they got in and played with the wrangler a little bit. I've got nothing to complain about and I really like the free spin cylinder. A guy behind the counter said he wasn't sure if he liked it so I said take out a Super Blackhawk, open the loading gate, index the cylinder to one click and see what that gets you. He had no idea.

My only beef with the zinc grip frame is that will prevent the gun being sold in states with 'Saturday Night Special' laws, like MN, MA, and MD, possibly among others. I really like the concept of the Wrangler, and am interested in seeing how well the execution goes. Seems like any new Ruger introduction these days has to go through at least one safety recall before it's good-to-go.
After the guns have been on the street for a while, I also want to see how many folks are busy fitting them with 'superior' Single Six parts - lockwork, grip frames, grips, etc.

There was a period of time long ago when I couldn't justify the cost of that coveted Colt / Ruger single action .22 revolver so I wound up buying a Fie. That revolver spit lead so badly I only shot it a very few times and couldn't hit anything then.
Yet, in it, I actually acquired a revolver so useless it was perfect for practicing my spins and fancy gun handling skills. The lone ranger and Cisco kid had little on me. I wore the rough trigger face smooth and many times had a black trigger finger from the gun's finish.
Now, I look back on how that much handling probably would have resulted in a first class trigger pull in a better gun. One I could have actually carried and shot stuff with. In fairness though, I might have been too worried about dropping a better gun.
I think the wrangler could be that better gun that is still affordable for a lot of people today.

I finally read this thread.
All I can express is excitement. They may not be perfect but I have to dang many little kids to be buying bearcats for! I sure hope to see one and hold it.
Also for my trapping dispatch work. Cheap gun to throw in waders. Lots of potential uses.

WENT BY ACADEMY SPORTS (A GOOD SIZED SPORTING GOODS CHAIN) TODAY. GUY BEHIND THE GUN COUNTER DID NOT KNOW WHAT A WRANGLER WAS. HE SAID THEY NEVER KNOW WHAT IS COMING IN WHEN. THEY HAD AROUND 8 HERITAGE REVOLVERS ON DISPLAY, MOST IN THE $180 RANGE. AM BUSY PREPARING FOR A BLACK BEAR HUNT SO I AM IN NO RUSH TO BUY MY WRANGLER, MAYBE BY MID-SUMMER.

I handled one today, I think it will be great for beginner handgunners as well as experienced handgunners not to mention opening the door for future purchases on other Rugers.
