I was looking at that too. Absolutely shameful in my opinion.

I was looking at that too. Absolutely shameful in my opinion. For hardcore single action fans, yep. But for someone who cant see spending $500 for a 6 shot 22, it may give them a new market. Some people just wont buy used guns. Also, what about the old model lightweight Single Sixes? Werent they similar configurations?

Sorry, I'm sticking with shameful... Others may well have a different opinion, but...

Good grief. Seems like the answer to a question nobody asked.

I guess if this is the "only" Ruger SA one could purchase I would agree, but don't really see anything "shameful" about an inexpensive model being offered. I know when I was a kid I would've loved to have been given something like this as my first handgun. As has been mentioned, the lightweight models may have been similar. I have one of those and will be anxious to compare the two. I just may get a couple to have at the ranch when the grandkids come to visit.

I just threw up!
But I suppose there is enough demand for Heritage revolvers and the like so Ruger figures they need a similarly priced option.

Their version of the Colt New Frontier 22 I have. SAA style sights versus the Single six style sights. Seems like it is trading in baby vaquero waters but so be it.

I just don’t like cerakote on a revolver, especially a single action.

I haven't held one yet, nor had the ability to examine one. However, for someone looking to get started on a budget or someone needing a tool to run a trap line, or any other used for a tool, looks like it'll be great.
It doesn't have the attractive features of deep bluing and great wood grips which I prefer, but bumping around the farm, in a tractor or combine, or living it's life as a tool to dispatch vermin. What's not to like.
Sure I'd like to concealed carry a Nighthawk Custom 1911, or use the Series 70 Gold Cup to check cows, but when it comes to washing real bullsh*t off of either one of those guns, I find a great deal of comfort running the Springfield XDM under the water hydrant to get the poo and afterbirth off of it, rather than the Gold cup.

Just looks like an inexpensive entry level single action that Ruger can have the unskilled/semi-skilled workers they seem to rely upon anymore assemble quickly & get them out on the dealer shelves. Certainly not a model most of the guys here are going to want, but there seems to be a market for such a gun in todays "throw away" world so I'm sure they'll probably sell OK.
