I'm watching that 327 as well.
My only hesitancy is having to reload for .308 diameter as well as my standard 32. Isn't this the same issue with the T/C?
Does it bother anybody else to do two 32 caliber loads?

Also watching the .327. Wish it had a .32-20 cylinder, but that can be fixed.

Not to disparage anyone's guns, but any idea what's up with that test group on the 32? I've never seen a FA target that bad.

You are right - that is a larger group than the typical FA. I did a little analysis in some drafting software I have. If you take the flier on the bottom out, the group size, center to center, is only slightly larger than the .44 Special group size. The flier makes the .327 group size about 75% larger than the .44 Special group. I wonder if they still use a machine rest to test fire the guns, or if they are done by hand? If the former, that flier is a bit worrisome, assuming it wasn't related to the ammo.

I have that same gun but it has a 6.5" special order barrel in .327 only...it shoots great.
On the test target...my bet is that the target was shot with the .32 H&R Magnum 85 grain Federal LSWC...stuff SUCKS accuracy wise and leads like no tomorrow. That gun was made just as the .327 came out as once FA got new labels for the boxes and a new stamp for the barrel the .327 was listed as the primary caliber with .32-20 and .32 H&R as options. One of my shooting buddies has a early 97/4.25" marked .32 H&R with a .32-20 cylinder that is an excellent shooter. He added the .327 cylinder after it became an option.

...fear not...the FA 97 is a .311 not a .308...

I'd considered that 327 too. Test target and barrel length bit of deterrents for me.
