Man, those 454's went cheap. I've been noticing that a lot lately at various auctions. I think the .454 has enjoyed its heyday and other big bores have superseded it in popularity.

The FA 454 is still so versatile. Dang FA 454! A guy really doesn't need any else! Like my buddy says... he hates the 30-06... cuz a guy doesn't really need another cartridge!

I'm going to kick myself if that .327 doesn't jump at least a ways more...

Yep. I spent a decent amount of time watching the .327,.44 spec, and .45. Went so far as to talk with my FFL and run through the conversation with spouse in my head... that conversation went something like...
"I don't have a FA and they're supposed to be really good guns and the prices were like half new cost for essentially new guns."
"You have guns you haven't even seen let alone shot for fifteen years or more now. Will these serve a role better than the ones you have now?"
"Uh... well... uh... I don't have an FA yet and the price was really good"
"OK. The price was good; but why did you need to buy all three!"
Finally, the price on all three got high enough so I could rationalize to myself not buying any of them; but it was close for a while.
Congrats to the new owners!

All went for bargain prices.... Based on some recent sales, I figured the .327 would bring $1900, the .44 Special $1700 and the .357 $1600....
From what I have observed of the FA market over the last 8 years it is about the same as Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Back in 2002 one paid a premium to get a bike...used ones brought almost as much as a new one. Wait times to get just the bike one wanted was months...now they are giving them away because the market is saturated. In 2018 H-D had major model changes to get back into the market.
FA is a nitch market. They build the finest SA handgun made. To get anything close from a custom builder will be close to the same money and a lot longer wait. But with the wait time down from 18 months to three and seeing the price that used or LNIB guns are bringing I think at this point FA may have hit their saturation point....

Has anybody else checked their in-stock inventory?
I've NEVER seen close to that many guns ready to ship out.

Prior to the Obama experiment Freedom Arms always had carry over stock or if you prefer stock built on speculation. During pre Trump stock gradually dropped to a few to none. We are now seeing a return. In fact I see a glut of new & used firearms. New from over production and used because of the many significantly lowered prices of new guns. Many buyers who would buy used now can afford to buy new. Supply and demand rules.
As a side note Weatherby learned the lesson of over supply some years back. They now limit production and so doing control the selling prices of their products. We shall see how this plays out for Freedom Arms.

I waited about 13 months when I ordered one a few years ago. Honestly, today is the first time I've seen FA have any guns in stock. Though I haven't looked for quite some time.

I was bidding in that 44, but it went for more than I wanted to pay.
