In rifles my 45AccRel will get my blood flowing. In a revolver 45 Colt! In a semi automatic just like 45acp.

Hard to choose...
In revolvers, anything .32, .41 mag,. 45 Colt, .500JRH.
In rifles, 6.5x55, 9.3x62, .458 Win Mag.
In auto pistols and pistol caliber carbines, and probably my favorite cartridge, 9x23 Win. Ten rounds of 125 grain @ 1600fps out of a 5" 1911 with much less recoil than a 357 mag is hard to beat.

I gotta admit that I've found the 357 Magnum, specifically in the FA83 and loaded for that revolver, to be very flat shooting and very accurate.
I have a Long Rifles Inc 223AI made on a Stiller action (and all of the good parts) that is a lot of fun to the 600 yard line. No recoil to speak of, thanks to LRI's muzzle brake, and it shoots as good as it looks.
So that makes one plain caliber in one fine revolver and a sort of oddball caliber in one fine rifle.
I also play with a 6×47 Lapua that makes me smile but I would have to pick the 223AI for the most fun.

It's whatever I happen to be shooting or loading for at any given moment for me. I love the design and ballistics related with all cartridges.
I've been dabbling with the 480 Ruger lately, and I really like it. I found a bunch of empty 357 cases the other day... I think I need to load them all up.

.45 Colt, .44-40 Win both talk to me, along with .38 Super. In rifles, 7x64, .275 Rigby (7x57), the 9.3's, .404 Jeffery. The list goes on...

Mine is the 50GI, I first got it as a Glock 21 conversion, and after shooting it went BAT S CRAZY, had an AR15 DI upper built in it then converted a MAC10, had an encore barrel chambered in it. Then 2 more AR uppers and built a suppressor for it. Then picked up another encore barrel in it (longer than the first one). Lastly I got a great deal on a Glock 21 frame so I had it cut down to take Glock 30 mags and got another conversion slide for it, and it is a great setup. I keep trying to get Gun Crafters to come out with a G30 conversion but no go so far. The 50GI is amazing in that it can run with all bullet weights from 185gr to 500gr and cases are super strong and last, I have one batch of brass that has been reloaded 20X and just got a crack in the mouth on one of them. And when people get into the argument of what caliber to carry for self defense 9mm or 45acp, I can say I carry a 50 caliber.

I was a rifle nut before I got into revolvers. I still fawn over my 300 H&H but my all time favorite big game round is the 400 Whelen. I've not had a more enjoyable rifle project nor a round that stirred my soul the way it does. Several others hold a place in my heart; the 17 Remington, 222, 220 Swift, 257 Roberts and 35 Whelen.
Like many others, the 41 magnum is near and dear but I'm also finding a warm spot in my heart for the 480 and the 401 Powermag.
In shotguns my thoughts turn to the 16 and 28 gauges as well as the 10 when there is heavy lifting to be done. I have 12s and 20s and like them but they don't move me like the 16, 28 and 10.

The old 32 S&W long has been a favorite from when I was a kid as a revolver round. It is even fun in a rifle. A fun plinking and small game round.
