For your 722 Remington the 250 Savage Improved sounds perfect to me.

Been thinking on it. I already have a 22-250 AI twisted 1:10” that will most likely handle the 75 A Max and I have a .257 Roberts so the 100 grain class bullets are covered...all these decisions...

Groo here I would have to sell half my rifles but a Merkel singleshot with a full length stock in 7mm08.... Light short and those that have them say 1 inch groups are the norm.....

I got my brother to take one of my B&C A-3 stocks with the butt hook home to see about trimming it down a bit.
I still haven't decided on a caliber....

Super pedestrian but I'm a 270 Win fan. I shoot a m77 mkii with a 2-7 Leopold attached, and a No1 RSI with a 1-4 Leopold. I load up the RL22 to max in the mkii and use a mid level load in the short No 1. Either one drops Louisiana hogs, deer, and coyotes with authority.

That helps them drop with authority quite a bit...

Perfect little combo.

I love the design but can’t live with the accuracy. So, I’m a bolt gun guy.

I would be more than happy to dump all of my rifles for my Kimber Montana 270 Win and my tweaked Win M70 375 H&H. The Kimber took my last elk, 2015, with a 140 gr TSX and the 375 will head to Burkina Faso coming February for buffalo, roan and other critters. I did take the 375 on an unsuccessful brown bear hunt in SE Alaska.

You have just about all the bases covered with those two rifles Ed.

No ‘just about’ about it. Of course a .22 would be better for rabbits than a 270, but it can be made to work.

Ok... someone has to ask it... so... what would be the fun of the "perfect" rifle??? one rifle that could do everything... is TOTALLY not my style... I'm really enjoying the litterally dozens of them that each do one thing perfectly... ( make me happy ) that would be like saying the "one" single action that could do everything... Blasphomy

I fond it freeing to have just one muzzleloader. It is perfect, and because I shoot it monthly, minimum, I intimately know everything about the rifle. Harder to do that with dozens of rifles. Different strokes, is all.
