For this poll I would like to see what others think if only had to decide on only one revolver.

thank you for the vote. It’s not really for me, more or less wanted to see what the community would choose if bam two guns in front of you- pick one. Make it fun

I have both and voted for the .45. It's really hard to beat a .45 Colt.

I voted 45 Colt . Mainly for the mild side and much lower cost of brass. As I have a 6 shot 5 1/2" Bisley . Now if it was both 4 5/8" barrels it may well have gone 480.

I bought the 4-5/8" 480 SBH.
I sold my large frame 45 Colts, kept a Harton medium frame Montado in 45 Colt.

45 Colt, my favorite mild to wild! I can do anything I want to do with a six gun!The older I get the more I shoot the 44 Special!!!

I love my Bisley Blackhawk .45 Colt. Like Mr.44guru, I often find myself moving toward my mid frame Blackhawk .44 Special. especially for longer shooting sessions. It is a delightful revolver that is easier on my aging wrist and ears. For trail carry, I defer to my.45, and I find the weight difference negligible. Back on topic- I really want a Bisley .480 in 4 5/8", but I've decided to await the opportunity to shoot one before I commit.

With a small reloading setup, the 480 is a very versatile cartridge. At the top end(110 or 296)I think you would rarely feel under gunned. At the low end (Trailboss) you could shoot a very small animal for dinner and have very little meat loss other than a near half inch hole through and through.

Yup, the "mild to wild" argument favors the larger bore. Will admit, the 480 is a reloaders cartridge.

Put me down for the 45 Colt. I guess I am just a traditional old school old codger.
