As noted,,, we are poking a little fun here James. And as for possums,,,, they do not normally carry rabies,, due to their body temp. It's one of the few animals the state of NC allows me to relocate. Other critters,,, that can carry rabies I'm not allowed by law to relocate. Possums are "easy money" for me. Ty, Your right....marsupial`s do not carry rabies for whatever reason or the other.....

We had a Brittany spaniel that got in a scrap with a woodchuck as a young dog and got bit pretty bad! After he healed he became a chuck,s worst nightmare. Would spot and stalk one for hours and when the time was right he would attack, kill and chompon them till ever bone in their body was broke! Them drag,em home to show my dad. He was the only one he let bury them. If anybody else did buried one he would dig it up! Loved and hated that dog! great dog but we didn’t get to shoot any chucks for a lot of years!

I had a little blonde rescue terrier years ago about 3/4 the size of a grown possum. One morning before light she was out doing her morning duty and I see this funny shape waddling toward me in the dark. I couldn't figure it out. It was Susie with a full grown possum, sideways in her mouth! I hadn't heard a thing so worried for her hollered for her to "drop that right now!"....she did. I scooped it up by the tail to throw it over the fence and just about the instant I let go that thing woke up screaming and twirled around to gnash my fingers. I lucked out by a half inch I bet. Weird noise that thing made. Like a demon! That little dog was damned lucky that evil critter played possum when she happened upon it in the dark. Me too I guess.
