The long wait starts. I sent my GP100 off to Clements. The 6 inch Talo with unfluted cylinder is going to become a gun I have wanted for a few years now. I should have asked him how long the wait was when I had him on the phone but I was trying to waste as little time of his as possible. He can't work on guns when he is on the phone. Anyone have any idea of the wait times for him on these? I expect 8 months if I am lucky, longer if I am not. Kind of excited about it.
Last time I decided I couldn't wait anymore was before Ruger brought out their 454 SBH. I waited for two years on them and then decided I couldn't wait anymore. Six months later they brought them out after I bought my BFR. I hope Ruger decided not to do that to me again.

I don't know the answer to your question but I think you made a great choice whether Ruger comes out with a 10mm GP tomorrow or two years from now. I also wouldn't begrudge your choice of the BFR over the belated Ruger. Hell im excited for you. A four inch model would would be the bees knees for me.

I couldn't do that to my 4 inch GP100. Then I would ruin my small collection of 4 inch 357's. Smith 28, Security Six, Dan Wesson 14, and my GP100. I still like my BFR. Just put a scope on it last night for Seancass's 100 yard challenge. I hope I forget about the 10mm and then when I get a call from him telling me that it is done I can get all excited like a kid at Christmas. That's what I do for my NFA items.

When I talked to him 2 weeks ago he said a year. A lot depends on how long it takes to get the barrel bored.... It passes more quickly if you have more than one to wait on....

Bushog, talking like that people are gonna start thinking that you might be a bad influence. I have a Savage rifle I am getting parts rounded up for to put a new barrel on it so I have to to occupy some time. The other part is when I have time I have no money, when I have money I have no time. Cruel world it is.

I was told 8 months on my 10mm conversion from him. It ended up taking 14 months. You won't be disappointed with the work; well worth the wait.

wish you guys would quit posting & bringing this thread back to the top... I'm really torn between the 44 Special & 10mm... if Ruger would offer a 10mm ( no lead time for a custom ) I'd be on it tomorrow... I think I'd rather have 3" 6 shot 10mm... err... well... at least 1st I guess if I sent in my 4" 357... I'd have a year to get it paid for... he's still asking like $200.00 down if I remember correctly???

$150 down and I waited and waited for Ruger to make one but I will wait no more. I even email Jason from Lipseys? about it and he said that the topic of a 10mm had been brought up but they hadn't done anything about it. If Ruger does come out with one I'd still buy it.

What you need to do is just get started with the new 3" GP-44 and before you know it they will bring out the GP-10MM WE all just need to do our part (I did already) and buy up the supply of the newly released (GP44) so that they will bring out the next version (GP-10MM) Now,,,,, See how easy that is after some splainin!?!?? LOL Let your wallet Freeeee! BigBore44

Foxtrapper Might could rub a little Viagra on one of these here 3" models Gaining an inch has always seemed to evade my attempts heheheee I'd like to see either a 4" or 5" model come to be but, probably jump up to 6" before the others mentioned. I'm glad they made the 3" and that it was the first made. I've wanted a 3" 44spl since, well, ummm, Forever Got this 3" one now and, Won't be letting it get away from me either!!! Best of luck BigBore44
