Back in December, I ordered a BFR 500JRH. I've been patiently waiting until I got to fondle one today. Now I'm anxious to get my own.

You won't regret that at all.

I'm not a big fan of SS but I like my BFR 500 JRH. A set of wood grips are in the works and maybe an altered hammer someday and I'll be very satisfied with it.

Functonally the hammer works. Not the greatest looks wise though.

Functonally the hammer works. Not the greatest looks wise though. Exactly. The aesthetics leave a bit to be desired, but like the rest of the revolver it's pure functionality. These are just honest working revolvers.

I love my BFRs. Great guns. Light years ahead of Ruger, not very far behind Freedom Arms but a whole lot less money.

When I ordered mine about a year ago it took something like 4 or 5 weeks if memory serves. I will tell you this... The wait was absolutely worth it 😁

I was told 8-12 weeks. I don't worry about wait times, just buy other toys to fill in the gaps.

Mine will be here by the end of next week from what I understand. I know I can't wait to get mine it's been a month today since I ordered my 5.5 inch I wish I'd get it this week I'm ready for lots of shooting and then a hog hunt. I've never had a .500jrh before and it seems like the perfect big bore cartridge to me. by the way your big bore handguns book inspired me to get a bfr in .500 Jrh all my handguns are single actions in .45 colt and one RedHawk in .45 colt and I shoot them all the time. I wanted a step up in power and the Jrh seems perfect in a similar sized platform. I've alresdy got a couple hundred 500sw cases cut down and several hundred 400 grain Missouri bullets company biullets and some bulk 335gr fp and a couple hundred cast performance 440gr I'd be interested on any proven loads you have for these bullets I'd like to load some full power some mid range and a big amount of lighter loads like 850-1000fps. The powders I currently have are AA5 true blue Winchester 296 trail boss and AA9. I can get any powder I need but these are what I currently have and am using in .45colt.

Will Winchester LP primers work in my cutdown .500sw brass in my bfr .500jrh? I know the pockets are cut for LRP in the .500sw brass
