I've never had a gun without proper sights but this one seems intriguing. Do any of you own/carry one, or have experience with these?

I have shot the CA Bulldog 3" it has a proper front sight & was accurate. I rather liked it & it would be a dream to carry. Have no experience with handguns without a front sight. I think it'd limit you on usefullness a lot?

The gun as tested, has a Crimson Trace grip installed. Not sure if the price listed included it though. I'm quite fond of the 3" SS Bulldog that's in my vest pocket right now.

If I got the Boomer I'd probably spring for the CT grip which is an additional $200, but that's pricey for a pocket gun. I think the standard model with some slim wood grips would actually be the best bet for me. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone has used one and what their thoughts on the effectiveness of a point and shoot gun are. I've done a few point shooting drills and I'm pretty useless past 10 yards without sights.

This a gun for shooting measured in feet, not yards anyway. A friend got a snubbier barreled bobbed hammer Bulldog and brought it to camp for a fishing/hiking gun. First time at camp the empty beer cans were set out to shoot. He was unhappy with it as a plinker compared to what the guys pulled out for plinking. If your gonna judge it by what it does on paper at a range..

Strictly for up close and personal..... but I can see where it would do that well 😉

If I picked one up there would be no expectation for target shooting or plinking, strictly a carry/defense piece. Though it would be interesting to see how far out one could hit an 8"-12" piece of steel with regularity. Either way I thought it was a neat revolver and after seeing one in a local shop have been intrigue by them. Might pick one up if the right deal comes along down the road.

Seems like a great back-up gun or clipped under the car seat gun. In your bathrobe pocket. In the bag you tote your lap top,etc.. This likely why Mr Quinn bought a bunch ! As usual my 3" S.S. is in my fleece vest pocket right now. Friends and us going to Erie for the afternoon and likely the Bulldog will go along. Though the M69 has been intruding on the out of the house CCW chores lately.

I used to have a Seecamp 32 back when you could sell a used one for $1,000 (I did). They came sans sights, too. At about 5-10 feet I could consistently hit the center of a IPSC target IF I shot from the hip, aka point shooting. But if I tried to aim the darn thing I'd miss, A LOT! I sold it and got a S&W 642 in 38 Special. I couldn't get rid of the uneasy feeling that I couldn't rely on that gun if the occasion arose where I'd need some semblance of aimed accuracy. I suppose it would have made a decent 3rd carry gun... right now I'm driving my wife to appointments as we have about 4-6" of snow around town, and growing up in Ecuador she's had zero experience driving in snow. My carry right now? Glock 19, strong side holster; Glock single stack 9mm, front right pocket holster; and, 3rd, S&W 431 PD, left front pocket holster.

A good gun belt is essential, LOL. Maybe I should add suspenders too. Of course, the G21 in the glove box in there, too. Orygun, like most places, is peaceful... right up until it's not. There's only about 34-36,000 people in this here town and most are decent, hard working Americans. But there is still a drug culture here and a few gangs even... and as I've found, people that are looking for a fight just for the sake of fighting, and I've been dealing with this category of wolves since my teen years in the early 70's. Of course, they're looking for someone who looks meek, weak, or in some way lesser able to fight than they are. They're bullies and cowards and pulling a piece is all it takes to send them running. 'Course, when I was 13 I wasn't carrying a pistol around so grabbing them by their hippy hair right above the ears and yanking them down so their head is stuck between your knees was pretty adequate as well. But I'm older now, with car accidents and scars and chronic pain. I can't physically fight a younger, larger, stronger kid, teen or adult anymore. One good strike or kick to the right spot and I'd be down, and then who would protect my wife and kids?

Yup to all of the above. It's later in the day now and the Bulldog in the fleece vest pocket has been long traded for the M69 in a Bianchii slide on my jeans. With suspenders. A few years back I quit with the ever advanced tacti-cool training when after a 2-day personal protective detail course I felt like I needed an ER..it's later in the life now and I no longer see myself rolling around on the ground fighting anymore. I know it may not be my choice and the best option is to identify threats sooner. On the class thing, it was my turn to be "protected" and scenario had us exit mock vehicle close to street corner. We grouped then moved to corner where we were swamped by "badguys". Things went from airsoft to rubber knifes, then to a mess on the ground. In-elegant but realistic ! Being close to corner, a single protector should have viewed around the corner first, or in real life, real vehicle we could have circled the block and left out one person to view seen as we circled. Etc..solutions. Stay safe.
