The gun blast reviews for both the GP100 .44 spec and the SW69 .44 mag are both very positive. Probably couldn't go wrong with either; but I'd still choose the 69 just for the mag option since i have several .44 mag revolvers and a decent stockpile of .44 mag ammo.

Or even just to be able to use your existing magnum brass. I load a few lighter power rounds with Win 231 that are around 'special' power to use in my Redhawk Kodiak.

I finally handled a M69 at my LGS the other day. Had this Ruger not been announced I almost surely would have walked out with it. They are a dang nice revolver! I think I'll still end up with the GP 44.

Priced at $829, same as a regular, $140 cheaper than the Match Champion.
Saaayyyy, Match Champion, that gives me an idea...

Me thinks a set of Hogue Lamo-Camo or Cocobolo would look nice on this little puppy What says you? BigBore44

I'm not so sure I won't end up with an old style pair of GP grips with some fancy inserts when I get mine.

Given they are about the same weight, I'd prefer the 4.25" model 69. While I prefer mid range 44 spl to the mag, Loaded down magies work just fine. The GP is just too hideous looking to my eye. If I were to shoot them side by side, perhaps my opinion would change, but I doubt it. The 69 is now my all-time fave double action.

I hear you guys on the S&W69, but the current rules I carry under say no magnum chamberings larger than 357Magnum.
And the 44Special works for anything I'll need a big bore wheelgun for.
This GP44 looks too good to pass up.
