Great pictures mic214. Very nice NF and I really like the leather. I just got an EK#5 from Doc a few months ago, a birthday present from my wife. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm kind of spoiled now on holsters. I find myself on his site frequently trying to decide what to buy next or shopping the auction sites for vintage left handed leather. Congratulations on a nice Colt. Thanks! It was a tough choice, as all of Doc's holsters look so great. I think it will be the perfect rig for packing my NF. Between this holster and the grips from Robb, I think my NF will be outfitted quite nicely......

Love New Frontiers. I have a new production 44 with the 5 1/2 inch barrel and a 7.5 is currently at Gallaghers getting chopped to a 4 3/4 and getting reblued and smooth elk stocks. Can't wait till it returns.

I don't have a tribute gun to Skeeter but my first Ruger in.45 Colt was bought because of one of his article's.Never regreted the purchase, and will pass the gun on to my son one day.His writing influenced a lot of people and still does.He along with Elmer Keith,Bob Mileck,Clair Reese,John Wooters and a host of others should never, and will never be forgotten.

Mic you will like any of Doc's holsters. I don't have one, but I want one. It'll set off your NF just great. Let us know how it does at the range.

Back in Octber of last year, I contacted Doc about making me up a proper holster to pack my Colt NF .44 special in. All of his holsters are first rate, so the choice was difficult. I was looking for something that Skeeter Skelton would most likely use. After looking at what Doc had to offer, it was a toss up between a Threepersons holster or a No.5 rig. In perusing his website, I found his page dedicated to Skeeter. Barranti Leather Skeeter Skelton's page On that page was a No.5 holster that Bart Skelton had made up as a tribute to his dad (One with a "Bar T" brand on it). I really liked the lines of that holster a lot. So I decided that a No.5 would fit the bill. I had originally asked for a small bear paw print on my holster, but Doc suggested that the larger print would look better on a rig this size. The holster arrived yesterday and it was definitely worth the wait! The fit and finish of this rig is outstanding, to say the least. Doc is a true craftsman and it shows in his work. This holster is the perfect companion to my Colt and I look forward to many years of packing both. I am pretty sure that Skeeter would like the looks of my outfit.....

The .44 Magnum is my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .44 Special, which then becomes my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .45, which then becomes my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .44 Magnum, which............. And, to quote an esteemed correspondent: AND SO IT GOES......... Bob Wright That about sums up my experience, too......... I'm with y'all... Nice New Frontier. You never really went into how it shoots?.. Dr. B's leather has always really been impressive, class act all around. Unless you consider some of the company he keeps. Totally kidding about his company

Totally kidding about his company Ha ha ha.....I have never met Doc or Tank, but I think they would both do to ride the river with! I can't tell ya how happy I am with the holster and can't wait to take it into the field. I was finally able to get the New Frontier out to the range and it shot great! I was using my old cowboy shooting loads of a 200 grain RNL bullet over a charge of 5.5 grains of Trail Boss. After a few cylinders, I was able to get her dialed in at 25 yards off of the bench. This was my last 10 rounds of the day: I was also doing some "Spring cleaning" in the garage and I got my reloading bench all set up again here at the new hacienda. I found my box of the 240 grain "Keith style" .44 bullets and my jar of Unique powder, so I will be loading up the old "Skeeter Skelton" loads.

Mick:
Wow, that Colt SAA groups as good as it looks!
Coupled with the Barranti holster you have a outstanding rig that functions as a true system!
Thanks for sharing the outstanding results of your range test - You will be enjoying this Colt for a long time to come!!

P.S. It really is nice to have adjustable sights on a Colt SAA when you can hit the point of aim, even if they are not quite true to the 1800's vintage design!
