Look out! Ruger man that I am, those New Frontiers get addicting! Not a .44 but a .45, this is how it looks with stags: Hope you enjoy! Bob Wright

.44 Special is my favorite big bore round, and your new Colt looks great. (The other pics here are also sweet.) Congratulations on that.

The .44 Magnum is my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .44 Special, which then becomes my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .45, which then becomes my favorite round to shoot, until I shoot my .44 Magnum, which.............

Never owned a .44 special but After owning several.45 colt the special is high on my list. The only worry I have is that will take over my favorite round which is the .45 colt. Yours is a beauty and I'm and I'm sure it will be all you hoped and what a great way to honor a great man who is also someone I grew up reading and influenced my gun purchases as well. Have fun with your new prize and ENJOY

mic214, I think Skeeter would approve. I miss his writings too. Thanks Frank! I am having a hard time choosing which model holster from Doc Barranti's shop. It's a toss up between the Threepersons or a No.5 holster. I am leaning towards the No.5 as that is what Bart Skelton had made to honor his dad and, for me, it would also give tribute to Elmer Keith. I just got word this morning that my NF has arrived at the post office in town, so I am eagerly awaiting a call from the local gun shop...

I will tell you guys what is a dang shame. Too bad they never made the New Frontier in 32-20 WCF. What a dandy that would have been. Especially if it came with a .327 Federal cylinder....
A 41 Magnum NF would have shined too...

I just got back from the shop and I have the NF in hand. It does have a few small nicks here and there from handling and a very faint turn line, but other than that, it looks like it has hardly been shot or carried at all. There were no box or papers either, but this is going to be a shooter, so I am not concerned about not having those. I ordered a holster from Doc Barranti today. I ended up going with a No.5 rig. I tried the NF out in a couple of holsters that I had on hand for my 5-1/2" SBH and it actually fit pretty well. They will have to do until the rig from Doc shows up. I can't wait to get it out to the range!

How Colt didn't pick up on that is beyond me....

Great pictures mic214. Very nice NF and I really like the leather. I just got an EK#5 from Doc a few months ago, a birthday present from my wife. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm kind of spoiled now on holsters. I find myself on his site frequently trying to decide what to buy next or shopping the auction sites for vintage left handed leather. Congratulations on a nice Colt.
