I have had an unexplainable fascination with this cartridge since I heard of S&W 610 owners boring out their cylinders for it. But I believe a BFR or Super Blackhawk frame could really make this little bastard into even more of a screaming bad-ass of a cartridge! Or at least I think it would be awesome on one of those frames. So what special shops could possibly make this happen? Bowen? JRH? This would be a long-term project, but I am enticed by the possibility of this. 5-shot or 6-shot is fine by me. Also... if all else fails, what about converting a GP-100?

Yea you wouldn't want a BFR. I have a Buckeye in 10 mm but I use the 38-40 cylinder more. I would try to find a Buckeye and have the cylinder bored. If you have to have something built I would go with the GP100 and moon clips.

What's the "Buckeye" NMBH? I was thinking of a .357 Magnum NMBH, send it to a reputable builder, and let them have at it. I'm gonna look up Alan Horton.

Buckeye is a distributor that had a run of 10mm/38-40 Blackhawks done by Ruger. They have a buckeye leaf engraved on the top strap. It would be a simple process to rechamber the 10mm cylinder on one of these guns.

A Buckeye will have two cylinders. A 38-40 and a 10mm if my rememberer is clicking right. All you would need is to have the 10mm cylinder rechambered and you can be shooting 10mm magnum.

Why not just get a 41 Magnum Blackhawk? Of course this is coming from someone who usually steers clear of practicality when it comes to handguns!

Reeder does a 10mm on a 44 Mag case. Might be a good fit for a 10mm cylinder.

It's called the 401 GNR. Basically, as Stan said, it's the 44 Magnum necked down to 10mm.
From a 6 1/2" Revolver it shoots a 200 grn at 1600 fps.
My 12" Contender is considerably faster.

Some of these things are simple cylinder rechambering too. I've got 30 carbine Blakhawk he rechambered to a 300 GNR. This is an improved 30 Herrett. He has loading dies and loading data too.

I have an old model 357 protected sight that has had the safety conversion and I don't have the parts to convert it back. It has the best trigger pull of any of the converted ones I have seen. It's pretty much just a shooter I have a 9mm cylinder that is the same length but it still needs some fitting that I have been thinking about sending to Reeder to rechamber to 357 GNR. All of my new model large frame 357's have 4 5/8" barrels and I think the 6 1/2" barrel on the Old Model would be better for the 357 GNR (41 Mag necked to 357). Anybody knows what he would charge for this? Anybody have this done? Thanks and everybody have a great day. By the way, It's going to be 98 today in Beautiful Downtown Pahrump, Nevada and up to 106 by Friday. Pahrump is 65 miles West over the hump from Las Vegas. Everybdy have a Great Day

So I talked to JRH and he said he could do a six shoot conversion on a .357 Blackhawk for about $700. Not bad at all!
