Any chance this could be done on a Flattop size gun?
(1.670" diameter cylinder instead of the standard Blackhawk size.)
Like a Flattop .357 rebored?

Yes it can. I have a 40S&W/10mm/.38-40 in a mid frame flattop.

I know the 10mm auto is doable in the midframe but what about 10mm magnum?

The 10mm magnum case is 1.242" long and a 38-40 is 1.300". I don't see any reason it wouldn't work from a cylinder length point of view. Is the 10mm magnum loaded to higher pressure than a 10mm?

If I were going to build one from scratch, I would start with a mid size frame. Let me know if you need a donor gun....

I think WE should get Freedom Arms to chamber the Model 97 in 10mm. Hopefully we can get the FACA fired up to convince them like we did to chamber the Model 83 in .41 magnum.....
