USFA guns assembled with some European parts prior to them making all their own parts.

King6- That thought crossed my mind too based on the location of manufacture listed on the box. What do you think of the price $495.00?

Do it, you won't regret it and you probably won't find one for that price again.

That price is a steal. Also, that model is their rendition of the US Artillery Model SAA. The DFC serial number was commemorating David F Clark, one of the US military inspectors in the 1800s. Again, price is a steal. Grab it or let me know where it is.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat for $495. Great price.

Whale of a deal Chief! Shoot, those were what Hamilton did his custom SAA style projects on before they started building the last of their parts in house at USFA.

$500 is dirt cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The early USPFA's like this one were built from Uberti parts, fitted and finished here. Not as good as the later domestic guns but very good in their own right.

I would agree a good price. But this US assembled Italian gun is no better than the AWA, which was also US assembled and finished Italian parts.

It's odd it doesn't have the stamp on the side of the gripframe.
That's a surefire way to tell if it has Italian parts at a glance.
Are we sure it's not just a really early all US gun?

$495?! Btw, no disparaging the Italians. It's no "Italian decent"

It all boils down to the quality of the finish and the quality of materials when it comes to screws, springs etc etc. And as I understand it USFA were second to none in that department. The materials that go into the frame, barrel and cylinder are not any better or worse in Italy than anywhere else. The small parts in the Italian revolvers are often sub par (prone to breakage)
I live in Europe, so I cant really compare prices - but if I ever see a USFA over here - Italian parts or not - for less than 1000 bucks I will consider it a steal!

Just got off the phone with my LGS. It's out of the display case and waiting for me in the back room pending paper work. Thanks for the info guys. I guess it's merry Christmas to me.
