Back from Yetiman and on to next in line.
And so I can keep up, current count on reamer is 6.

I shot my 45acp Birds Head today, and it gets along far better with lead bullets than it ever did before.
The chambers were tight enough I would have trouble even loading my lead rounds. They wouldn't seat deep enough to let the cylinder turn free without pushing them firmly. The shoulder of the bullets on my 200gr SWC's would hit the edges of the chamber.
My solution was to just shoot jacketed ammo in it which meant it didn't see a lot of range time.
Now my lead loads fine. While my shooting today was pretty informal the accuracy was better with the lead bullet hand loads than it had been with the jacketed Federals I was putting through it before.

Ok, since the new Bisley Hunters are so popular right now, I think I will bump this. I have two new 45s to do, and current cylinder count is at 7, so it will need to go back to Manson for sharpening before I send this out to anyone, but if you want to get on the list for when it returns, go ahead and post up. If no interest, I may not spend the money to have it sharpened.
Instructions are on the first post.

Besides shooting for accuracy, are there other ways to tell if my gun needs this work? The only Ruger .45 Colt I have is a three screw Blackhawk. I do have two S&W 625's in .45 acp. One is a -3 and the other is a -4. Both are pre-lock guns.
Is there a link to how the reamer is used?

You can get a baseline by tying to gently push a .452" diameter cast bullet through the chamber throats. If the bullet won't go though with minimal pressure, the throats are too small. You can also measure the chamber throats with plug gauges, if you have a set.
Watch the videos and decide if this is something you want to try. 2 Dogs offers this service, and member DougGuy at the Ruger and Cast Boolits forums will hone your chamber throats with a Sunnen hone. Doug can also do other caliber revolvers.

If you shoot cast bullets a lot and get lead deposits in your barrel, it can possibly be caused by too small of throats, restriction at the barrel threads (thread choke), or too hot a load for your bullet choice. This is the second easiest of the three to correct. Like mentioned, the bullet push test is an easy way to see if they are under sized. However, my experience with the early 25s and old model Rugers is they were usually larger than needed, so a 452 bullet falls through with no pressure.

Lead is all that I shoot in my revolvers.
I watched the video, but not too sure about doing it myself. Sure would hate myself if I screwed up my three-screw BH .45's cylinder.

Did you try dropping a 452 bullet thru the cylinder? I bet your’s is loose. I tried dropping a 280 gr. .452" Keith style LSWC from GT Bullets (I think?) through the cylinder, and it would not go. I tried to help it along, but no joy. What do you think? I don't know if it helps, but the serial number is 45-0493X which puts it as being made in 1971.

Sounds like your’s might benefit from reaming. Either by you or Fermin.
