I may be able to add something a little interesting... Our friend potatojudge just picked up a fine Clements built .41 mag with a heat treated oversized cylinder. In my exchanges with the seller he said he was shooting a 295gn LBT style bullet from a Mountain Mold out of it at extraordinary velocities with great accuracy. I inquired about the mold after the gun sold (i shoulda' bought it) and the fellow asked if I wanted to buy it. He included some bullets in the deal too. The mold isn't here yet but I loaded a dummy round to see if the boolit would fit in my long cylinder Bowen .41 mag. built on a large frame gun. It fits nicely! It does NOT fit in the long cylinder mid frame .41magnum custom. Here is a bad pic of the dummy round in the cylinder. The dummy round and 295gn LBT beside a 225gn Keith. OAL of the 295gn is 1.775" compared to 1.705 for the Keith boolit Finally a pic the original mold owner sent of the 295gn boolits next to a 255gn LBT

Wow, thats a great looking bullet. Can't wait to see how it shoots I’ll get pics and measurements of some 41 cylinders up later. The seller sent a letter with the Clements 41 claiming the last time he shot it he got a 6 shot group at 100 yards that measured 5 inches using lil gun and that 295 grain bullet going 1500 FPS.

That would be a great bullet to try in the long cylinder 414! Hey Bushog just for grins and giggles show us the beast of a bullet in a 41 Special case. There would be your midfrsme medium velocity thumper possibly.

Those numbers but they're impressive. I'm betting there's not a lot that would stop that long 'ole boolit!

Bet it could be a weener in a S&W too....

So are we having Mountain Molds cut more? Or cut one, send to caster to sell to us?
I’m not getting into casting. Too much on my plate already!

I think our site host might have designed this mold and had the first one made. I looked at their website but just never followed through with the order.

Truth is that it's so close to the tru shot boolit I don't know that it makes a whole lot of difference. Although the reality is that that has never made a bit of difference! Hahaha!

Lee likes 7 grains Greendot in the 41 if I am not mistaken.

My plain jane 4.2 inch Redhawk: I don't know how this got here, I was just reading the thread, got to the end and there it was. Not my gun. The only .41s I have are a Smith Model 57 and a Taurus Titanium Tracker. I did enjoy the thread though !
