It seems like there is a strong consensus that Ruger should make a 5-shot 480 Ruger Bisley. There is also strong evidence in Whitworth's book, and elsewhere, that Ruger considers this to be impracticable. However, what is possible or not possible is always subject to change And that change can be driven by consumer demand; see, e.g., the Single Seven. So, if Ruger were to make a 5-shot 480 Bisley, stainless, 4 5/8" and 5.5" barrel lengths, what would you be willing to pay as an MSRP? For comparison: Ruger's MSRP for the blued 7.5" Bisley is $825 MSRP for the 480 Super Redhawk: $1119 MRI MSRP for the 454 Casull BFR: $1184 (the BFR 480 is now a custom shop offering) Street prices would of course be lower. In these parts a blue Bisley runs about $599 new and a SRH, when they can be found, run $799 new. Because Ruger would have re-tooling and R&D costs to recoup, they'd likely have to price the gun higher than the standard Bisley. So, at what point would the price be too high? Especially because the only alternatives (custom revolvers or a BFR) all start in the mid-1,000s and go up.

Ruger has said that it would have to be built on a larger frame and that's not something that'd interest me. I know it costs more but personally, if I really wanted one, I'd rather send my Bisley Vaquero and a check for $1600 to Jack Huntington to convert it to .475. Rather than wait for Ruger to do it.

I'll pay whatever Ruger wants for a single action Super Blackhawk Bisley in 480 Ruger. Make a bigger frame, 5 shot cylinder, whatever it takes.

Ruger has said they need a larger frame. But that, like anything else connected with technology and manufacturing, is not set in stone.

I'd pay $750-$800 plus tax street price.

Same frame size, or at least no bigger than the BFR. I'd like it closer to $600 street prices, but... I'd pay for the quality if it's there.

It seems like there is a strong consensus that Ruger should make a 5-shot 480 Ruger Bisley. THERE WAS A "STRONG CONSENSUS" FOR A .44 SPECIAL RUGER GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO 1955. ONLY TOOK 50+ YEARS FOR IT TO HAPPEN.

Nothing, have no desire to own one as I have a BFR in 500 JRH.

Also, Ruger strikes me as a far more responsive company now than it had been for most of its history. Up until this century at least.

I'd pay $750 for one. I'm sure I'll have a couple grand in my Harton 480 Vaquero.

Ruger needs a larger frame. Despite so many making them on the existing frame size.
Of course this is the same company who hasn't been able to chamber a .45 Colt correctly since day one.
The R&D was done over 25 years ago. Seeing what they've been turning out, I don't know that I'd want one.

Sorry, I am like Boxhead in that I will stick to my 475 with sane loads and skip the 480.
