I was making the rounds of the local gun shops and found an old model 4 5/8" Ruger Black Hawk in realy nice shape with the box. It's a pre prefix. They also had a Virginia Dragoon 44 magnum with a 6 1/2" barrel without the box that was really nice. I just wish I could have bought it also. Maybe if it's still there in a month or so I will go back and get it. Everybody have a real good day. Ron

Those old model 41 mags are really underappreciated......but not by me! I have several.

A few years ago a friend invited me to come out hog hunting on his new property. He said he was about out of ammo for his "pistol" and couldn't find any anywhere. This was pre-panic, when ammo was NOT hard to find. I didn't get a chance to ask any more questions right then and forgot about it.
A week or so goes by and I meet him out at his new place. I did remember to ask about his "pistol", planning to give him some ammo for it. He goes in his camper and comes out with a pristine old model Blackhawk, 4 5/8 inch barrel, in .41 magnum. It apparently had been his late brother's gun and he intended to use it on hogs but couldn't find any ammo. I grabbed him a couple boxes of factory ammo and showed him about gun safety with an old model Ruger. I also had an old Saferiland western holster that I gave him. Eventually he came up with a couple hundred empty cases he found in his brother's shop. He bought a die set and ordered some Keith bullets. We proceeded to load up 200 rounds of .41 Mag Keith loads in MY shop and I believe he's set for a while.
So I have never owned a .41 Mag, but I have handloaded for one.
And yes, my buddy eventually killed a few hogs with his brother's .41
