A while back, Ethan and Frankie raided their piggy banks and bought themselves a pair of consecutively numbered Bisley Flattop 44 specials. Not long after we had them here, Ethan built a very nice pair of matching holsters. These special sizguns needed some special stocks, so this called for a visit with our friend, Scott Kolar. If you have some of JT's books, then you've seen Scott's stocks. After some discussion with Scott, we decided to go with Burl Mesquite. Scott gave me a shout today to let me know they were ready for pickup, and I am very pleased with how they turned out. The Burl Mesquite is much more interesting than plain old, straight grained Mesquite, and I intend to have at least one other sixgun stocked with some from Scott's stash. Thanks, Scott!!

Those are some NICE grips for a pair of great guns. I often favor burl woods for their unique designs.

Here ya go, Paul! These are my Northwest Mountain Companion model. I cut them out (Ethan doesn't use the wicked sharp head knife yet!), Ethan did all the stamping and edge work, and I stitched them up. Ethan is doing a fantastic job with the basket and fishscale stamping. He's almost ready to work on customer gunleather!

Quite a pair Mike. Scott Kolar is somewhat under the radar but his name should go right along side of Fishpaw, Persinger, and Chapman. I've been meaning to get a gripframe up his way....maybe I'll reach out to him this week. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
