A house down the block from mine was having a yard sale this morning, so I stopped by. When I got there, some guy was "dickering" with the people holding the yard sale over a revolver. They wanted $150, he was offering $100. They refused to budge on the price. The guy tells them "I'll be back later. It'll still be here." After he left I went to look at the revolver. It was a Rossi Model 98, 8-shot 22lr. I checked it over, and told the guy "It's not gonna be here when he gets back. Will you take a check, or hold it till I get cash?" You live down next to the vacant lot," the guy asks. "No sweat, we'll take a check." Here it is. It's probably going to get passed on to my daughter.  |

That's one of the things they are trying to change in Congress. They want to pass a federal law to force all gun sales to go through the background check.

Maine still does. Prime pickings at yard sales. Friend bought a 10/22, a 870 pump 12 ga and a Colt Combat Elite for $650 package price at a yard sale last summer.
