Congratulations on a great find.
Yard sale guns are a rarity in most locales, but generally lawful as a transfer from one private citizen to another. Expect that to change very soon. The universal background check legislation presently in congressional committee will most likely be passed as a means of "closing the gun show loophole", which, as we all know is essentially non existent.
Gentlemen and women, whatever your political leanings are, if we do not all vote Republican in the next election cycle, we will lose our 2nd Amendment rights. Count on it.

Saddens me that we have such craziness going on in our country's center. If just Cali and NY--you kind of expect it, and if got too bad, much easier to a little off each coast than try to remove a state smack dab in the center.

I think there are roughly 45 free states left that let you sell your own property whenever you choose, be it a stick of gum or a handgun.

Congratulations that'll be a nice shooter. Don't feel bad about buying that one. He lost his place when he walked off & he kind of insulted the owner as he left! Are you going to be there when Bozo comes back? The look on his face will be a true Kodak moment! ;D Montana allows private party sales. In fact most gun shows will have several tables with a sign "Private Sale". Those have a lot of activity.

If just Cali and NY--you kind of expect it, Maybe you do, but I don't. When I called my Republican State Senator (Mark Grisanti), his office said he was not voting for the NY Safe Act. He voted for it. Just because they are Republicans, doesn't mean they are pro-gun. In NY, every handgun we own is listed on our pistol permit. It is not a big leap to say that at some point in our futire, every gun will listed on a permit. To the OP, sorry to Hi-Jack the thread. Nice gun and great story. Thanks for posting (and making me jealous). Mark
