Nice find! Even though the brass GF doesn't fit perfect, It sure looks pretty. Very pretty wood also. Does it have the transfer bar conversion? Even if it does, it's still a great piece. I like the fact that it's already been modified, you could customize it and not feel bad about tearing up an all original gun. Shoot the hell out if it as is or sky's the limit for a custom.

For shooting, the brass grip frame should be much more comfortable than the original aluminum. Stoked with early, full house .44 mag "soft" lead gas check SWC (excellent game load) recoil in the original .44 Blackhawk was downright painful.
Back off the load a bit and that brass handle should be fine. And, by all means, remove grip frame and blend those "ears" to mate revolver. David Bradshaw
