I had a Mountian Lion once but returned it to the seller. The fit was awful on the example I had. I did manage to find a blue Mountain gun that is pre-lock and pre-MIM. I've never seen another. It has a Nelson Ford action job and is a treasure.

Thanks for all the info.
I've got a set of Buffalo horn in stock configuration on the way from Eagle grips.
I'm anxious to give them a try.

I picked up the walnut grips on the net. Some early factory Redhawk grips, but beautifully figured and they fit better than the rosewood ones I had on it.
I'm partial to the factory contour style. The only other ones I like are those that Uncle Mike's used to sell. Those fit and look nice.

Was just informed that the Buffalo's from Eagle are backordered 6 to 8 weeks. That'll set my project back a bit, but I'll let you know what I think & if I agree with most of you or not Thanks again for the advice. MadBadger

I bought a 6" RH 44 that had Pachmyer's on it and didn't much care for them. So I replaced them with Hogue's plastic and didn't like them either, so it now wears stock grips that I found at a local shop. I like the looks of the Herrett's and may eventually talk myself into a set of Troopers.
My .45 RH came with the plastic Hogues which I don't hate but that's about the best I can say for them. If you ever have to remove these, it's ridiculously hard.
If I was smart enough to figure out how to make an oversized set like the Herrett's, I'd do it. Unfortunately, it would be tough to do with a leatherman and a dremel....
I don't think I've sen the Uncle Mike's, anyone got a picture?

Shoot Mark, just go get a 4 way 1/2 round file and some sandpaper and you're good! That's about all I use.

Simple, single action grips I can do and I could probably do a set similar to the stock Redhawk grips but when I look at Herrett's with the grip frame sort of enclosed in the grips, I can't ( or haven't been able to) figure out how to make them. Yet.
