I've shot Todd's 230 grain in my 401 Bobcat. It's a great slug and would be a fine heavy bullet option for the 38-40: -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I'll insert a shamless plug here. www.cordercustomworkshop.comThey are my designs cut into molds by LEE Precision. Lee, your 401 does look good. Perhaps one of the toughest cases around too.

Yup, Todd makes a very nice well thought out bullet. Those pictured with the GC option would be great for running your 38-40 hard......

All the molds listed on the webpage are available. As I have them in stock. Molds are $ 125.00 for a six cavity mold ( Lee production molds, no handles) The best price comes from full production runs of molds. Feeling the need to offer multiple designs, I could only coin short runs which doesn't offer much savings. And yes, I'm a for profit business so that I can afford additional runs of other designs. Designations are I have the following: .312-120 grain FNGC ( flat nose gas check) The one on the right. Works in the 32 H&R, 327, 32-20, 30 Carbine and I've started using it in the 7.62x39. .359-180 BRLMNGC ( bore riding long medium nose gas check) made for guy's like me with a plethora of 38 spl brass and the desire to load 357 data. Loaded OAL is that of a 357 mag ( within .010) Since this is a bore rider, features a long bearing surface but minimal contact, You can easily use 180 grain bullet 357 data and even the 158-160 data if you use the slow powders. I had hopes the folks shooting the 356 GNR would take a shine to it and be useful in some of the revolvers with adequate cylinder length. 1.735 OAL. Loaded in a large cylinder revolver such as the redhawk, it will be a full cylinder and give the 357 a bit more umph, not quite a maximum, but give the 357 all the help it can for hunting. The .401-200 grain LMNGC ( long medium nose gas check) and the .401-230 grain FNGC ( flat nose gas check ) are kinda my pets as I have a 38 WCF by John Linebaugh. I've run the 200's at over 1700 fps, and my initial load with the 230's run 1450 fps shooting three shot groups into 2 inches at 100 yards over iron sights. The best groups I attained were less that 1.75" at 100 with a 200 grain bullet. My friend Joel ( gundawg) took a nice pig in south MO. with the gun. I think he shot her while she was lying down. A quartering away shot, entering thru part of the ham and breaking the off shoulder she was lying on. The .412-270 LFNGC ( long flat nose gas check) was to give the 41ers a good heavy. It has the same sectional density as a 290 grain 429 mag so the bullet is relatively the same length. The nose length is set to work in all the S&W N frames and offer a full cylinder save .020. I shot them in the 410 GNR and it liked them. Probably the bullet for the GNR or a 414. ( Sorry no picture ) Lastly the .513-300 OWC ( ogival wad cutter) The purpose for this was a good, inexpensive and furgal bullet for the 500 Linebaugh, 510 GNR and 50 Bowen special. ( Tony I've not forgotten you, I promise) Cast lube and shoot, no check needed. Trail boss and unique in the Linebaugh seem to work well. Small enough to be fun and big enough for deer and by defalult actually works in the 50-95 Win which needs a pretty short nose bullet. No it ain't no long range bullet, but is nice to practice with your big gun on rabbits without getting a whoopin doing so. left, 500 Linebaugh, right 510 GNR The boss has finally shut down for the winter and now I have time to catch up on all the casting. Long days in a bulldozer and working on heavy equipment make for short nights in the winter. I apoligize if the post is too lengthy Lee, feel free to edit it if need be. Nor did I intend to hijack the thread Hope this helps guys. Thanks Todd
