Whitworth and I just had an "all 500 day" at my range. Namely his 500 Maximum, two 500 JRH BFRs, and this 500 JRH by Huntington: The gun is on loan from a fellow forum member and it's quite a shooter. And if you notice the XR3-RED got extended and reshaped by Jack. It makes a huge difference especially with 400 WLNs @ 1,300 fps from a short barrel. The finish is Mahovksy's Metalife hard-chrome. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Very nice. The metalife is really growing on me. I may have to give it a try here in the near future.

that is a sweet looking gun and I really like the flutes and octagon barrel. Lee I know you have answered this a thousand times but I slow can't remember what the answer is and can't find the answer on my own. Cab I send just the grip frame to Jack or does he need the whole gun. I appologize for my slowness

That Huntington modified gripframe is worth every penny. When Jack did mine he wanted the whole gun because the steel GF came off a different gun and the "ears" were proud. I think the one Lee picture is a modified Blackhawk GF. I had Jack modify a extra Dragoon SBH GF I had in my parts bin.

It's an XR3-RED. I shot my Maximum yesterday which has a modified Bisley, but these extended plow handles have simply become my favorite grip frames. They have all of the benefits in recoil handling and control of the Bisley, with lots of space between the trigger guard and your knuckles. Just wonderful!

That .500 was the inspiration for the mid frame .480 pics were posted of in another thread. I didn't know it was chromed though. That finish is growing on me too.

That modified grip frame looks to be along the lines of a Freedom Arms grip. You are giving me ideas. Nice!

I found out last week how much I've come to like the way a bisley handles recoil but if I can get good handling from the grip extension I wouldn't be opposed to that either. Oh and by the way that is a great looking gun as well I love the bluing and clean look it has to it very classy looking
