Alright Guys, I have an Idea for a new style fiber optic front sight But not sure If it will work, so would like to make a test version out of alum. If anybody have any scrap laying around they be willing to share, not sure if my idea is going to work, but may be worth a try.
Please pm me if you can help me out
Thanks Matt

Well 109 looks and no responces means I need to elaborate, I think we all have seen and shot a HI VIZ front sight and are great in low light but lack the precise shooting most desire for all around shooting. So some know I have been a bow hunter longer than anything else and have become accustom to fiber optic sights, well bringing the two together melding the best of both worlds,
a small .019 fiber optic dot in a solid front sight ramp without the sunburst effect we see now with traditional sights, I got the design idea, Sorry not CAD to give you a model,
Will give you a crisp black outline but enough color to make out in in low light, Thoughts?

I'm not a fan of the fiber op sights on a handgun for the reasons you mentioned. I have shot a Bowen Redhawk that had a patridge style front sight with a brass bead emplaced just below the top of the sight. It worked well as you still had a black on black /square sight picture but the slightly proturding brass button was easily visible for quick sight aquisition.
Sorry, but I don't have a picture of it.

So what you mean is a small fiber optic tube that goes through the sight but does not have a cut-out on top?

So what you mean is a small fiber optic tube that goes through the sight but does not have a cut-out on top? That doesn't work. Just looks like a spot or dot, no glow. Been there done that. I'm not sure what "starburst" effect you're talking about and I've used fiber optic sights from 8-9 or more different makers. I hate the way they look, but can't argue with how well they work.
