Expecting retirement to change the size of the garden. My current plot is already a little beyond what I can do with a shovel, hoe, and rake. Bought a new Troy Bilt Horse 30 years ago when I lived in Birmingham. Sold it 25 years ago when I changed agencies and moved to Greenville MS. Decided it was time to step up again. Watched Craigs List for a while. Spied an older 8 HP horse over in Florence. Drove over and hauled it home today... Come see it! Gas tank is full and it starts easy. I'm up for pulling a little Tom Sawyer on you guys!

Tom Sawyer, NOT. You can bring it to Idaho when the permafrost is gone and do my plot. I will even buy you a huckleberry shake when you are finished. Bring Fermin with you if you want. See you soon! Steve

Grandpa had a Yard Man rear tine, wheel speed and tine speed were independent. Could really bust up the clay. Cool thing was that the handles pivoted so you werent walking over what had just been tilled. Unfortunately it was sold in the estate sale. I have been making do with a 5 horse Murry as of late. Really want one of the hydraulic pull behinds for my Ferguson tractor.

Oh yeah ! I have the smallest Troy built that has reverse. This to back it down the ramps from the truck. Got it maybe 15yrs back when we made use of the neighborhood garden. Used to put in the usual plus a big corn patch. When I got to be taking care of parents yard too, scaled back to plot behind the garage. Just 'maters and peppers now. I empty burn barrel ash on the plot and dump one bag of fertilizer before spring tilling. stevemb

Axe,ya know if you had rock free black dirt,I would almost ride down there and do it just for the experience. Like a friend of mine that asked for me to help hang sheetrock on his new built addition, when done he asked what he owed me,after remodeling and fighting my 70 year old house,I said NO CHARGE,it was worth the experience hanging rock in a SQUARE building.
