Jack is getting a little low on brass. Starline is dragging their feet. The more of us that call Starline asking about .500JRH brass, the closer to the front burner we might move. 1 (800) 280-6660 Be nice, just call and ask about it

I contacted Starline last week and they told me that they don't make JRH brass. I contacted them this week and told them everything I see on the internet says you do, so what's up?

I went through that too. You just need to tell them that you know they do because you have some! Lol

Received an email from Starline today. We have produced .500 JRH brass previously. I am unsure if we will ever produce it again since we get very few requests for it. Right about now they are probably switching all machines to .223, .308, 9mm, etc...

It was a lot of work trimming down just 50 rounds of 500 magnum. I really hope you all email him and let him know well buy it if they make it.

I just wrote Starline so we'll see what they say. I also inquired about a run of 414 Martin (1.40" 41 Magnum). I'm pretty sure if there were to do either the quantity will be 50,000 pieces and up. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

We keep trying to get a big run made, but they are so backed up trying to fulfill 9mm, .40 Smith, .223, etc. requests, that low-volume big-bore revolver brass falls by the wayside.

As a dealer, I talked to them the other week about having a run made. The volume they wanted in order to do a run I don't recall, but the price I do. It would have been a nice down-payment on new car or paying cash for a really nice used car.
Before I pull the trigger on something like that, how many people want brass and how much do you want?
Are you willing to pay in advance for brass that you may not get until 2014 (or later) if I were to instigate a run of brass?
Of course I would talk to Jack and maybe another fellow that makes ammo before I did it as well to see if they would go in on part of it. And to make sure they were not already ahead of me.
The good news I keep hearing is that this run would have a little more case capacity and allow for more bullet length in the case because it would be made with a different inside punch.
I only have 50pc of brass for my gun, but it can be made from .500S&W and I have only put about 100rds down the tube so far, so it's not like I'm in desperate need.

Not trying to steer the thread off course, but...trimming to a JRH length from 500 S&W shouldn't be that ime consuming, if you're set up for it.
About a year ago I bought a Detonics in 451M and thought I needed to ream 308 brass to shoot it In absence of the factory stuff.
Turns out buying 460Rowland brass and trimming it with a case trimmer to length solved the problem. i bought about 300 Starline cases through Midway and with their longevity that was enough for my purposes.
As long as the 500 S&W has the proper dimensions, I don't see any issues what so ever. The only "issue" is the excess length of the 500 would need a preliminary cut to speed the process up
If someone has just gotta have a few I could probably make some for ya
