A gathering of the clan. At camp, in the Penn woods. Due to a parade of various parts of both sides of the family, I'm NOT ready. Last week couldn't get the old 1917 Enfield, by Winchester, to group at all. Burned thru ammo, nothing made sense. Got home and found barrel band had come loose. Never be able to exactly replicate pressure of barrel band, then couldn't find same ammo. Arrrgh ! Plan B, as always is the SBH 44 mag. Can't keep the cylinder pin in, spring broke or just to worn, I believe. No time for Midway. Plan C, the NM Ft 5.5" 44spec.. Its been shooting good with Skeeter loads, and will go into backyard to try new loading with 255gr WFN CP over same Skeeter components. Well anyway, camp is a social event, I can be chief dish washer and beer drinker, deer dragger,etc.. Sigh.. stevemb

Hope you have fun anyway Steve.
The last 3 years I have been taking my son out who is now 16. This year he informed me he doesn't want to go! He wants to sleep in cause he has to work at his part time job on Monday at 5:30pm-10pm, which is opening day here in PA.
His girlfriend also has no school where she goes so he wants to spend time talking to her on the phone after he sleeps in.
I haven't hunted deer since he started hunting cause it was more fun just taking him out.
Its just not the same!
Oh well, Think I'll sleep in to!

Well ChrisO, I'll be in Spring Creek Twp, Elk Co.. You would be welcome to join us. Need only sleeping bag and pillow, beds'a'plenty. I'll be there Sunday, mid-day, thru Wed noon. Camp looks to be at half or less, of capacity. We have 200+ acres and game lands border us one two sides. ANF is across the Clarion River from us. stevemb

No legal bucks were seen by the gang. Though two were taken, each of the last two seasons, and two others, by another camp, were killed around the hill from us. So, am up and out to hunt Ohio'er for two days. Ruger NM FT .44spec on board. stevemb
