Do any of you know of any gunsmiths that would do this? A buddy at work here in DFW has an older Marlin as a donor gun, and would like to get an octagon barrel installed.

No first hand knowledge but recently I read on another forum that a guy had a Marlin with Gallagher a couple years ago to do an octagon barrel.

You may wanna try JHuntington, and the shipping won't be bad from texas, SSK is another option though I am not sure if they do octagonal barrels. Turnbull is another option. Hope this helps

Marlin will do it on some guns for an extremely good price,

I was wondering if marlin could convert one of there rifles to 41 mag for me? I've been waiting for years for someone to come out with a new 41 lever gun but never has happened, even talked to a rep from henery said it was on there possible future plans but that was 3 years ago now. Doesn't seem like anyone wants to touch the 41 mag anymore in a rifle.

Marlin made quite a few 41 leverguns. You can find a standard model and the cowboy model w/octagon barrel. I have one of each.

There's a .41 CB listed on GB currently.
