Wathed this little lady and her three sisters from the stand for about 30 minutes this morning as they picked their way through dad's fresh sowed oats. They eased their way around the edge of the field, and disappeared up a neck that was blocked from my view by a tree. I was holding out that the 3 does and a 10 point would come back in to the fied I was watching, but had nearly given up. The hens came back out of the neck and popped up just 20 yards from me. I decided turkeys were easy enough to clean and I didn't have plans for supper yet. A 300 grain 45 caliber WLN at 1300 fps is overkill for a turkey, but's it's what I had. Shot down from the stand and lost the rear inch or so of one breast. On the grill right now with a mix of pecan & mesquite in the firebox, shot full of Tony's injectable jalapeno & butter marinade and sitting in a beer bath.

Closest map spot is Bulcher (no longer a town), north of Muenster.

Had to look it up on a map, doesn't look like you can go any further north and use a Texas huntin license, lol.
