Did the bullet exit or did you recover as it was a HP sir?

It exited the offside shoulder just to the rear of the knuckle and legbone. About two more inches forward and we would have found it for sure as it would have centered that knuckle. The bullet did expand early as we thought it would and really punch a large torn hole through the onside lungs. It was a cleaner hole through the top of the heart and then another large hole in offside lung. Leaving ribcage, that is where it was a perfectly circular hole with one rib completely severed and another half into. There was actually about 7 inches of bloodshot tissue on exit side around exit hole. More than I've ever seen when using cast bullets in the past. It sheared some of the nose pieces that were most likely peeled back just before it exited. I found one small piece in the shoulder on offside and the whole in the hide wasn't large at the exit. As Dick mentioned, it acted much like a soft nosed cast bullet. You get really good initial expansion and "splash" and then the nose may possibly shear but then you have the base that keeps trucking along. I was really impressed with the performance.

Glenn, just a heads up... I am going to use this post and information as reference for questions about bullet construction. Your 'soft' bullet and HP have me questioning a lot of previous information passed around here.
