Well my 71-72 Ruger 44 Carbine is back in my stable.. Ok, maybe not the most exciting rifle but for me its one of my most practical rifles I own, A short time ago it took a trip to California to Jack Huntingtons shop for some trigger work and to touch up a few spots where the factory finish has worn off. I was going to re clear the stock but after some discussion with Jack it was best to preserve the original finish to keep the value. Before I sent this rifle out, the trigger, well sucked though I was able to squeeze off a quarter size groups at 100 a few times, though I am not the best group shooter. These groups were with hand-loads. Well the trigger is better than every and breaks like a glass rod and action is slicker than slick. The touch up shots came out great and I could not be Happier. I am glad once again that I chose Jack to do the work. Jack did mention he thought this stock was reworked because he has never seen one with cheek weld, though all the info about this rifle I can find this was a factory offering, If you have more info on this model please share! i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p616/Mc596097/MSC_1467_zps27145731.jpg

that is NICE! I had one years ago, sold it to a friend's wife.....she is a very petite native lady who is a crack shot with it. hers had been stolen, and she never found anything else that fit her like that. she used it [ and i assume still does ] for caribou and moose. i need to find another one....love the way they point and handle.

That stock was on the deluxe model of the Ruger 44, there was a similarly stocked 10/22 also.
Nice rifle, I killed my first buck with one. I wish I still had it.
