Last weekend I sat through the hunter safety course for the second year in a row. This time withmy son, last time with my daughter. He is not old enough for big game(deer/bear), but can hunt small game. Well, he is rather relentless and managed to drag me out into the woods to hunt squirrel(did not have to try too hard) This is a result of our hunt, after patiently sitting in the woods for 20-30 minutes, this bushytail managed to get a little too close and my son managed to take him with his Rossi .410 shotgun. What a great experienc for a dad to take his son out for his first hunt, first harvest of game, and that eating what he takes is part of the whole circle. The proud new hunter ![](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Resampled_2012-10-05_17-03-57_30.jpg) Cut up and ready for the frying pan ![](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Resampled_2012-10-05_17-50-45_99.jpg) dipped in a little milk, rolled in some seasoning and pan fried in olive oil in a cast iron skillet. ![](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Resampled_2012-10-05_17-54-02_165.jpg) Actually pretty tasty!!!!!!

Yes sir that is a landmark day in a boys life, and you were there to share it with your boy like every father should.
Congrats to both of you

Thanks guys, I am blessed that my son likes to hunt, shoot and fish. My daughter likes to hunt and shoot as well. My son and I just bought a 20" center console fishing boat. Needs work, and we are fixing it up getting ready for the maiden launch. You have something good going on there, I felt the same way when I came home from work one day and my better half had a whitetail strung up and was going to work, I didn't know she had already finished the first one. We ate good!
