Well John gave me a call and asked if we could put on a shoot here in
Borger, so I was sending all our friends a note to invite them over
to get this yearly shoot started. Seems life is too short and we
don't let ourselves have much fun. If you can come over it will be
fun, and I would like to visit with you! Here is some info, and tell
anyone you think might be interested!!
Hello from Ronnie Johnson, your host for John Linebaugh’s third “Big
Bore Sixgun Seminar” held in Borger, Texas. Ladies and Gentleman, we
are going to have fun and lots of visiting with old friends and many
new ones. Folks, I want us to gather up our friends, and our shoot‘in
irons, and have a good time with the handguns, as well as the hunting
rifles. We will be sharing little know thought’s and practices for
field shooting and being able to hit the mark. Let’s join John here
in the panhandle to hear about the new ideas John will be sharing
with us. We are hoping Lee Jurras, of Auto Mag fame will be here to
tell us about handgun hunting and other topics that draw us near to
our hunting heritage. Of course, let’s all bring someone who has an
interest in handguns and hunting to fire these packable and powerful
handguns and see firsthand the power and ability John’s creations
have. We will have a charging bear target, penetration tests,
velocity and accuracy testing. Topics will include grips and hand
placement on the heavy handguns, sights, barrels selection, and
tuning of the hunting handguns. We will be talking about what makes
the handgun accurate and how to tell when looking at one, if it will
more than likely shoot well.
The dates to get together in Borger are Oct 5,6, and the 7th, at the
Canadian River Gun Range, about 4 miles north of Borger, on Hwy
152/Hwy 136/Hwy 207. The exit is on the north side of the Canadian
River Bridge about 100 yards past the north end. Turn left, taking
you west about 1 mile to the entrance to the range. Follow the dirt
road about 1 mile to the rifle range. There will be signs with
directions from the entrance to our part of the range. Cost for the 3
day hoot is $250.00 which includes the range fee and lunch on the 5th
and the 6th. A one day rate of $100.00 is available also for the 5th
or the 6th.Please RSVP with a $100.00 deposit to help with planning
and equipment. Bring all the firearms you want to test, and plenty of
ammo. John will have several of his creations here to test fire, as
well as we will be testing the standard big game rifle, like the 375
H&H, 416 Rem Mag, 450 Alaskan, and the 500 Alaskan. See what your
loads and firearms do also in comparison. Sometimes it’s a start of
lots of new evaluations!! Copies of several of John articles, and
write ups will be available to pick up.
Hope to see you there, and let’s SHOOT!!!
