Spent a couple of hours yesterday at the range getting the family's guns sighted-in and remembering how to shoot a revolver off-hand. I've been doing way too much load development on the bench lately. For deer, I plan to shoot my .475 BFR again this year with the Ultra-Dot on it. This is not the easiest gun to shoot offhand because of the weight, but I managed a couple of decent groups at 7 and 15yds with it. I started with the Ruger MKII, moved on to my 686 with 160gr LBTWFN .357s over 13gr AA9 with a CCI200, and ended with my .475 shooting 400gr Deep Curls over 24.5gr H110 with a Fed 155. Groups on the left are 15yds, right are 7yds. I yanked one down off the paper with the .475 - which is why there are only 4 shots on the 15yd target. I need to practice more, as I want my 25yd groups to look more like the 15yd groups... they used to.

It's a good start, subsonic! It won't take you long to get back to where you were. I need to do the same thing.

Hopefully I'll finish my snail trap today and that will give me a good excuse to shoot all day. Will be nice to know I'll be getting the lead back when I am slinging 400 or so grains per shot.

That looks like "bang flop" shooitng to me! I was shooting my 45 Colt Bishunter and 454 RH the other day and I'm definitely well within "minute of moose" out to 100yds depending on shooting postion. Headed out tomorrow afternoon for 3 days. But, the rifle is going along as well. We're low on meat and I really don't want to watch a bull walk over the ridge at 250-300yds! Besides, the wifey is "insisting" I guess I shouldn't have told her I missed one last year with the BisHunter.

Subsonic- Looks to me like you're ready to start shooting those moving targets that have fur on them.

Thanks for the compliments!
I need to work on my offhand still though... that one off the paper at 15yds is not good. Consistency is what I lack.

That sounds like a good day to me! Feel free to post up some progress on your "pre season tune-up". I know you can sling some lead with the best of us! ;D
