They're nice but I just got to say the SBH has it beat "hammer" down.

I've not used a bisley hammer on a blackhawk, but on the colt style guns they make the gun easier for me to cock one-handed without changing my grip. If I'm cocking with my off hand the traditional hammer works at least as well, if not better.

I love the Bisley hammer because it is so cool looking but (for me) is slightly awkward to cock and feels as though it could slip out from under my thumb. The SBH & BH are a little easier and more secure for me to use.. +1 I've reshaped the the SBH which is perfect for me and I love the look also .

Tn Gunrunner,
I think you've hit on something. I like the large hammers as found on the Colt Pythons, and S&Ws IF they are on double action revolvers. But I think that wideness looks out of place on a Single Action revolver. Your modified hammer looks just fine, much better than the wide version.
Would you maybe have a picture of a standard hammer you could show beside the modified hammer?

I lifted this off the ruger forum a while back. There's actually a good chance that it's TN gunrunner's pic. Thanks to whoever I stole it from. left to right- BH, Montado, SBH, Bisley

Tn Gunrunner and Aggie01, Thanks for the comparison pics. It is the wideness I don't like. Thanks for helping me figure it out.
