Im hearing tales of pigs rooting up an area I have permission on. I’m headed out in the morning to try to give them a bad day.

A Westline Inn trip for late Sept planned. Hope for some color. Peak color usually within 3rd week of October. Our Anny at the end of that, and some years too late for peak. We've gotten to celebrating Anny early. While I awoke to 44 degrees yesterday, think the low was 42. Heard Bradford Pa had 38 degrees. Going up to camp this weekend for the last of the work trips. Should hear elk anyway, A bit of leaf color here and there maybe too. Glad ya saved your maters Magman !

Hey Brant, understand the hogs are nuisance with a capitol N, and way more. Pestilence, not too much to label. Not judging, but a person can only eat, freeze, so much of anything. At some point are they left laying ? Or dragged off a bit, and left, per where they fell. Curious as to how you deal with. Guess, outta the crop field, if there, away from water source, if there, etc.. ?

When I lived in Mississippi, we just drug unwanted boar down by the water. Gator did the rest.

It was a bust this morning on pigs but I did see a couple of deer. I got to shoot some pistols and a couple of rifles afterwards.
As for what we do with them. I keep a few but im not real crazy about pork anymore. I will clean and deliver to a good friend that wants some but not many do. Those that don’t qualify as good friends normally only want one that is cleaned and on ice. Preferably delivered and they keep the ice chest! But truthfully o would clean most anybody one if they would just show up and get it. If I’m not keeping one and they die in a place that is too near a home or stand or area that I don’t want to be stunk up I have places to relocate the carcass. I have thrown away bunches with about the same remorse as if it were a rat.
A good dog is a great way to keep them away from the yard. You can shoot one out of the group and the rest will come back. A couple of cur dogs will teach them not to. At least in my experience.

Sometimes I long for cool weather. I've been waking up to 75-77F between 4am - 6am, with 95-99% humidity and 76-79 dewpoint. Ugh. Then there's the rain to make sure it stays steamy.
I do love the winters in FL.

52 degrees here, now. Am heading for camp today as soon as wife gets home from work. In our portion of floor space in one of the new rooms, in new building, we have to "nest" ! A twin size bunk to assemble, putting in precut plywood decking because we are going with a foam mattress, and bed has a metal slat arrangement. Don't want that to damage foam. Under bed tote system, folding small table, folding chair, sleeping bags, etc.. Another Senior member ran up Wednesday and will be finishing up with his 1/4 of room today. All anxious to make the move to new building before deer rifle hunt. A new era starts at camp this year. Oddly, think the indoor and outdoor rifle racks may not get done in time.

Love is in the air. Saw a buck trailing a doe across my yard today.

Their bbq is pretty good too. There's a few local places that sell it.

I pulled the trigger on about a 180 pound sow last Saturday night at 12:45 AM, crosshairs on her neck right behind her head. The click helped me to remember to load my gun with the four rounds in my pocket.
