Am watching the Weather Channel on TV and see the wild fire threat is already very bad, very serious, in too many places ! Eastern Washington and Idaho look particularly bad. Be careful folks.

Fires raging here in Oregon, too.

No fires here... Lots of rain! Springfield TRP caught my eye.... Got to replace the headlights on my 27 year on Cummins diesel Dodge. Lights been woefully dim for years. This should correct the problem!

No wildfires here it just rained a toad strangler. Was down in the western part of the state and ran into rain in spots all the way home. Last 10 miles could not see the road rained so hard, car in a ditch couple miles farther semi in the median, some people just won't slow down for the conditions.

Wandering through the store front on the way to the range. Looked on the wall and there they were... Ruger AR pistols in 350 Legend.... I'm thinking 357 Maximum power in a 30 round pistol. What is not to like about that? No ammo but dies are available and brass can be had. Think I'll order dies today!

I like nap days. Soo, it has occurred to me that my left handed/right brained wording and phrasing probably drives a few of you crazy. Not apologizing , just allowing for the possibility. Also, I can spell quite well, just have issues with typing, keys and such.

Had the mobile slaughter unit out today for the last two cows. Both were black angus and finished well on the grass we saved for them. The farm where I ran them has some pretty shaky jake fences so I make sure I buy or keep only calm critters but it will be nice to not worry about them since they aren't here on the home place. I like the mobile method so much better than hauling to the slaughter house. No stress or adrenalin rush for the animals and I think this calm lifestyle and ending makes for better beef.

We used to help Dad slaughter steers on our country "estate." Once a year. Neighbors would come to watch. That meant we were having fresh liver and onions for dinner!
