when set it is scary light.
Shot good. Shot some paper patch 500 grainers and some grease lubed 500's. The grease lube were a little more accurate but required swabbing after every round. With the paper patch I could ring the dinger several times before swabbing.

I looked a the pictures before I read the text, and i knew something didn't look right with that breech. The underlever conversion is very cool; i didn't know anything like that was available. neat build.

It looks awful nice. I'm considering starting a rolling block project. You set the bar high.

Carlos Gove was a frontier gunsmith in the late 1800's. He did underlever conversions among other gunsmithing innovations. The underlever gave a mechanical advantage to seating cartridges. True Gove's are rare and sell in the 10's of thousands. Dave Higganbotham at Lone Star Rifles did a few Gove conversions before his untimely death last year and Jerry Sells has done several. You can see pics of a couple of his on Womacks website.

Very nice pieces! Wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine myself out on the prairie taking game to put on the campfire.
