New Leather & Grips

A little over three years ago I had the distinct pleasure of visiting with JT at his home. We had a nice visit, he signed three of his books for me, but one of the most lasting impressions was a tour of his leather room. I knew at the time I wasn't comprehending completely what my eyes were seeing. I'm starting to now. I like getting new leather and grips almost as much as I like getting new guns ! Almost !
First a Simply Rugged " Tribute " holster for my 3" N frame 44 special. In addition there are cool little speed strips and a belt pouch for them. I remember discussing oxblood color but not the basket weave and border stamping. Thanks Rob. ;D


Next is my Fast Draw rig from Marlins Mountain Leather in Idaho City Idaho. Home of the " Legendary " Idaho Shootists my newest group of best friends. The New Vaquero now has Black Micarta with Black eagles from cary at CLC.


Lastly is a set of one piece walnut grips on the USFA. The blanks are oversize and it took Cactus a while to whittle them down. I think he started with a chainsaw. Perfectly fit with a gunfighter taper that you have to hold to appreciate.



I have been blessed this month. And I'm broke! ;D

Gorgeous walnut grips on a beautiful color case hardened and polished US Fire Arms revolver! Very nice combination and the fit is perfect!
I have to add that the black micarta Ruger grips really compliment the Vaquero too!

At the time I posted on the old sixgun site , or whatever it's name was... " There is enough there to re-equip the 7TH Calvary " It wasn't an exaggeration!
