I was digging through my safe today (nothing like Axe's) looking for something to sell and I came across this Bowen pistol that I've never shared. VERY accurate and I've ever seen another. Whatchya' think? ![](http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa321/Bushog/P8180004-1.jpg) ![](http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa321/Bushog/P8180002.jpg) ![](http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa321/Bushog/P8180006-1.jpg)

OK, I went and dug the original invoice out.
This pistol was built by Bowen in 1985 for American Handgunner Magazine as engraved on the rib.
I've never been able to get info on when it was actually in the magazine. Guess I should just ask Hamilton.
Ruger Mark II with a 5 1/2" Douglas match grade bull barrel with "low angle"match grade .22lr chamber.
Clark steel adjustable trigger with oversized hammer bushing and sear pin. 40 Oz. pull.
Hand checkered cocobolo grips.
The chamber is really tight and you have to look after it. Not a "between the seats" gun for sure but it will put a whole clip in the space of a dime at 25yds. I have the original targets that Hamilton shot also recommending the ammo it likes. I guess his pistols used to come with targets. I have an old .32-20 that came with one too.

The inherent accuracy is in the barrel. Looks like a Millet rear sight. That thing should shoot with anything out there. The drop in Clark aftermarket hammer and trigger really make a significant difference in the Ruger trigger. Add Bowen's magic touch and I bet it is Slick! I prefer a more upright grip frame. The Volquartsen grip fixes that. Slap on Volquartsen grips and I'd take it anywhere to shoot.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Here is a full up Jim Clark High Standard Supermatic custom from the same era... I'd actually guess this one earlier than '85 with the Keithsville LA marking. Falls from the same tree with the full length sight rib on a slab sided Douglas barrel with a Bomar rib in this case. The trigger in this one has adjustment for take-up and overtravel. Grip frame is at the "proper" angle ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) and it has Clark's trademark Tiger Tooth stippling. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z110/agb1368/Bullseye/004-45.jpg)
