I shoot mine. No reason not to, just take care of 'em. As Jeff says, would your grandkids rather inherit a safe queen, or one of Granddad's favorite sixguns?

Anybody know how many bisley target models USFA has made? I've had 1 on my wish list for a while, kept thinking that they would produce more later on. The only ones that i have seen have been on this forum. Are they like hens teeth or what...

As Jeff says, would your grandkids rather inherit a safe queen, or one of Granddad's favorite sixguns? Exactly! I'll take granddad's favorite sixgun over a safe queen any day of the week. As someone not fortunate enough to inherit such treasures from previous generations.

The only ones that i have seen have been on this forum. Are they like hens teeth or what... they were always scarce; I got a 5 1/2 incher from Alex Hamilton bck in 2006; i sold, unfired, two years later and made $100 on the deal. I only bought it because the USFA I'd wanted ( 4 3/4 SAA, full nickle, French walnut one piece grips) had sold. I really wanted a Flattop in .357 mag, which was a catalog item back then, but was told that ordering it would result in no guarantee as to delivery time. I talked to Turnbull's about building me one, and they said the problem was getting a .357 length frame from USFA. Lead times were never a promised thing from USFA, apparently. what a crying shame, if USFA is truly done.

Well, now I am glad I over-extended my budget a bit to acquire the five USFA sixguns I do have. The first is a Single Action, marked US Patent Firearms, bought new about 1998 or 1999. I accumulated three pre-owned China Camps, and the final one a new 7.5" Single Action. I hope USFA manages to find its place in the market, and hang in there.

for all it's worth.......
I have had a nickel 12/22 on order from them for quite a while, a Sparrowhawk not as long. I've been offered a slight discount as we are a small FFL and was gracious to get it, but a discount ain't a discount unless something gets sold. every few months I'd send an e-mail to the guy. The last e-mail (last week) just read "is what we read on the internet true because it's not good". The reply was that he is well aware, and that they are "retooling". No explanation past that. I'm out of town for a while and changing e-mail serveers so I can't check my stuff until tomorrow. I'd asked for a deeper explanation. If I do or do not get one, I'll post. If they are retooling and are going to offer the same guns of the same quality, I may feel foolish about the one I just put on layaway out at Sportsman's Finest.

I've been reading this thread hoping USFA isn't going out of business. I think they are a fine gun. I've been reading that several have had bad customer service. I've spoken with Gary several times a year & a half ago & he was very helpful. My experience with USFA has been very good. Their guns look really nice. Frank

i had a 5 1/2" flattop target; I sold it because I needed some $$, and didn't feel like going to the hole for it. Funny thing is, I can't remember what I needed the money for, but I sure remember the Flattop. there's a lesson in there, for sure.
