Well it won't bring the pictures over just by copying. So not sure how to copy from there other than text. ...with lead away and a little lapping compound. I scratched the muzzle a little on my Rodeo and that was all it took for me to decide to antique it a bit. I used a lead away cloth and a VERY TINY BIT of lapping compound and started lightly rubbing over the letters and on the areas where I thought a holster would wear the finish over time. I liked the old finish too, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! It's definately "MINE" now. The gun is a little darker and less glossy than the pictures make it out to be (Sorry I'm not a photographer) _________________ Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky, live like you ain't afraid to die, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Now that worked but it kicked all but the first out when I entered them - good job and very gutsy and interesting work.

Ah man, now why did you have to post this again? I was trying so hard to forget it.
I showed my wife the pics when you posted it at the old forum. She is not a gun person (doesn't mind 'em, just not an enthusiast). Even she thought it looked wonderful. She described it as a soft, old feel, without even knowing that was what you were attempting.
Guess I need to look for a Rodeo, sigh......

CalFred, thanks for reposting, I had just asked the question you just answered when the site went south. That is a very pretty six-gun & definatly shows ownership now. I've long heard that the only difference between the Rodeo & the std. gun is the finish. Thanks for sharing. Frank

This has done me a service in that I almost always try to keep guns as nice as I got them and that at times keeps me from full use. Now I am hoping that the new Cimarron 45 will change that but if not this is an option now that I see it.

that's awesome! I like the look of it much more AFTER you refinished, er, "unfinished" it!
