Has anyone here had any work done by Alex Hamilton in TX? What work did you have done? What are your thoughts of his work?

I have not had work done by him. But his company is Ten Ring Precision, and it has been a serious, credible enterprise for some years.

I've run into a bullseye shooter or two that shot his guns.. He builds nothing but the best. He currently writes the monthly Pistolsmithing column for American Handgunner.

Alex is A+. He's been around longer than most of the Smiths we talk about so often. Past president of the Pistolsmiths Guild and a heck of a nice man. Only thing I've had him do is trigger jobs with internal over travel stops on the USFA flat top bisleys I have. Incredible triggers.
He's got the "in" with some of the finest engravers out there.
Only thing that has stopped me from having him do a gun for me is the rather limited list of services. He's dropped a lot of things he used to do. He's in his 80s now.

Hi, have'nt had Alex do any smith work for me but I've bought a couple USFA single actions from him. He is a nice guy and very easy to deal with. Been wanting to ask him to install a Tripp research adjustable rear sight on one of my 1911's just have'nt had the time. His work is well spoken of around San Antonio.

I had him fix up a beater M28 for me, he did a great job and it shoots great. Also had him polish and reblue the sylinder on a 5 inch M27 that had evidently lived in a desk drawer, the grips and cylinder were very bear up but the rest of the gun was almost pristine. It looked almost like new one when I got it back.

I'm planning on sending him my 4" GP100 is the reason I am asking. I talked to him on the phone 2 months ago and found him to be rather nice and easy going aswell.

I've had three guns worked on by him. A Smith 66, Smith 629, and the Ruger I just got back from Clerments. He can build a 1911 from scratch I believe. His trigger, timing, cylinder wotk is second to none. My Smiths are sooooo smooth. He worked the ruger before I'd heard of Clements. As far as his connection to engravers? Look for yourself. He was pistolsmith of the year one year, those qualifications don't go away.

I came close to having him work a Smith over for me (he is local) but decided on Harton which is never a regret. There is a fair amount of very good engraving availble in the Hill Country, that I know. Looks like Keith Brown grips on the Smith, eh?

Ah, another local. I considered him back when Mr. Grover was building my #5. Regret not proceeding. Beautiful work.

Belive he is one of the three founding members of the Pistolsmith's Guild. Along with Lou Ciamilo and Jimmy Clarke Sr.
