Just "found" a Bowen .50 special Redhawk and was wondering if anybody had any personal load info? I have Handloader 155 and am looking for some more info. Can I shoot 435s?
Thanks!

Having had one for a while, Bowens data ( which he will galdly send you if you ask ) had a load for Unique, which I use.
It was baisically this, I could use 8.0 grains of unique and any bullet weight from 315-400. The 400's went 800fps with 8.0 of Unique.
I don't have any for the 435, but just guessing, ONLY GUESSING, that 7.0 of unique would be ok. I'd suggest giving Bowen a call as that would eliminate any guess work.

Don't forget that you can always use the standard "Fill the Case, No Compression" Trailboss load..

I was kinda looking for a heavier load. Calling Hamilton about that is unlikely to yield the results I'm looking for. I have several published loads with a 350@about 1150fps. I could have him re-chamber this one to .500 Linebaugh. He won't want to do that but rather build me a new gun. Besides, last week he said he was so backed up he wouldn't even guess at a wait time on a Redhawk conversion so I can't blame him. I would rather have had the gun in .500 Linebaugh but found it used for a great price and well..you know. Think I should wait until it gets here first?

Let me know if you want to sell it and put that towards a 500. I think that is all I would ever want in a .50 .

Went lookin' for the G&A article and it seems they're not archived.
Does anybody has the March 1990 issue?
